When it comes to the music business, especially rap/hip-hop it's hard not to see and or hear some kind of sexual reference. Most of the sex selling is geared toward young men or pre-teens, I run Acidacide Recordings a record label I started in 1994. When I started that label, sex wasn't the selling point at that time. I was successful at winning fans with hardcore acid rap. Acid rap is a form of rap music developed by Esham a Detroit rapper who gave a dark yet humorous picture of life through his music.
However today sex has taken over the industry and has become very obscene. The history of hip hop started with more soul and grit. It was more about our story and less about our bedrooms. If you are in my age group between 35 - 45, I'm sure you can remember when rap was clean and fun. Hip hop models were mute if in the scene at all. I recall the first sexual song that became pop was "Salt n Peppers" "Push It". After that the ladies exploded on the scene, it didn't take long before sexual appearance dominated the videos. I'm not against beauty as a selling tool, but it has become a little overbearing and nullifying. Beyonce has to be the worst offender, shes basically wearing underwear and it's not appealing anymore. It seems to be desperation, in order to stay on top. Any whoo enough of the rambling lets keep it classy and not trashy, feel free to post your model pics that represent how you feel about hip hop models. Whats hot and whats not?
